Carroll Completes Victory Ride at Ace Speedway

By Adam Smith, Times-News, April 27, 2019

ALTAMAHAW – Justin Carroll had enough to gain the lead across the long haul, and then plenty left to sustain it on a shorter run to the checkered flag.

That added up to what felt like the contents of a complete victory Friday night for the Concord driver, who captured the 100-lap Late Models feature at Ace Speedway, after outdueling runner-up Ryan Millington on a decisive restart and pulling away to safety.

“It’s an absolutely great feeling to finally put everything together and have a solid race like that,” Carroll said. ” I thought Ryan might get us there on the restart.”

Statesville’s Millington, the 17-year-old who triumphed in Ace’s season-opening main event, used the outside line and nosed his No. 15 car ahead of Carroll’s No. 57 on a double-file restart with 21 laps remaining, before Carroll reclaimed the lead and began to assert control.

Carroll Teams with Stanley for CARS Tour Title Run

By Langley Austin, January 14, 2019

Justin Carroll has been slowly making a name for himself in Late Model Stock Car Racing and in 2019 he looks to add his name to the short list of CARS Tour champions.

Carroll will team with crew chief, Jason Stanley, who has been helping his part-time for several seasons but will now work full-time for Justin Carroll Motorsports. Stanley, who has helped several teams over the last few seasons will concentrate his effort on Carroll’s car and the CARS Tour championship.

“Having Jason on full-time will really help our program,” Carroll told RACE22.com. “He’s helped us for a while now but having him there when he’s working on other cars is hard and having full-time will allow him to concentrate solely on our car and making it better every week.”

Carroll knows that having the right pieces and parts in place is important for making a run at the CARS Tour championship.

It’s just awesome to win this event.”

Carroll took on all comers and dispatched each with his rocket ship of a car, especially at the end, when he easily pulled away to claim the $10,000 first-place prize. Justin Hicks claimed second place, seemingly coming out of nowhere, and Trevor Ward was third. Carroll and Ward played cat-and-mouse for most of the race, but Ward could never overtake Carroll.  “I just couldn’t pull away from him,” Carroll said. “I was happiest when he wasn’t behind me.”
